Where to study Spanish?
Hi all, Just wondering where is the best place to stop for a while and study some Spanish for 2-3 weeks. The options are: Quito, Lima, Cuzco, La Paz, Buenos Good, Santiago or nearby, or suggestions. So taking into account the options in terms schools, cost of living (general day to day matters, if not homestaying hotels) and things to see and do in my spare time, weekend excursions, etc. Ta.
You definitely should go to Buenos Aires. It happens to be one of the best party cities in the world (better than Australia and the United Kingdom and most U.S. etc). Santiago de Chile one of the most interesting places I have visited. If you went further south of Chile you have more fun than Santiago. In Peru, may have trouble adjusting to the altitude well. Because their economy collapsed a few years ago, things will be cheaper for you. The quality of the things I buy there is excellent and cheap. Clothing, footwear, leather …. is like Italian clothes at affordable prices. The food is fantastic. meat, ice cream, desserts … everything. The people are very friendly and very aesthetic! BA is safer than Peru and Colombia, for example. There are plenty of schools you can go to Buenos Aires. No book before you leave when you are charged a fortune. Get BA and talk to one of the shelters. Clan www.hostelclan.com.ar suggest hostel as a place to stay and Spanish can be studied there (The language is called Castilian). In Argentina and Uruguay, which use a slightly different accent (I think more beautiful to listen) which is equivalent to the U.S. accent vs Oz. BA is a beautiful city and there are lots of excursions a day or weekend to do. Outside Sydney, Buenos Aires is my favorite city of all. If you want some more tips, check out my answers to the question about Argentina and Buenos Aires. Suerte!
