Beijing, Shanghai or Tokyo?
I will travel to one of these cities in May. I'm from the U.S.. i do not speak the language. which city would be the best place you want go? I know that Tokyo is very expensive but I think it would be really cool to go though. I heard that you can sleep in a love hotel. haha my cousin and I are going. and we realized it only takes about 5 hours of sleep each night. so we realized that would be cheap. or suggestions about hostels? What about Beijing? I kind of wanted to see the Olympic settings. and I heard its dirt cheap. I can get some suggestions about food and nightlife and drink? for all those cities? any suggestions helpful. Thank you. prices? we goin to six nights. We are on a budget. stage so the U.S. range dollars for each city. thanks!
I have been in Tokyo several times, but not China. Tokyo is a fantastic city. Definitely, you can move without speaking Japanese, but people are always grateful if you can prove few words here and there. The subway and train stations are written in English, and many (though not all) restaurants have English menus. It is possible to live with little money in Japan. Try to stay at a capsule hotel. They average about $ 40 per person per night. Check this one out: http://www.capsuleinn.com/reservation.html. You literally get a small cap room and communal bathrooms, but is really cheap. And you can eat cheap ramen shops, cafes and shopping bento boxes in a supermarket (which are delicious.) In short, if you stay in a cheap hotel and eating cheap food only, I think you could get for about $ 800 per week including visits and subways. This does not include airfare. Happy Travels!
